Dig & Clean Roblox All Shovels in Dig & Clean
Every shovel tier, gold price, and Power stat at the Gear Shop.
Shovels provide Power in Dig & Clean on Roblox — the stat that determines whether you can break a buried node before the ground glow despawns or a faster player steals your ping. Detectors find treasure; shovels extract it. Upgrade shovels after your detector reaches at least Copper or Bronze tier, but before you chase legendary glows on island maps where nodes hit significantly harder than starter beach sand.
All shovels in this table are purchased at the Gear Shop at map center alongside detectors and spray bottles. Prices are fixed in gold, unlimited stock, and permanent account upgrades. Cross-reference All Detectors for Luck tiers and the Gear Upgrade Path guide for the full priority order.
Complete shovel stat table
| Shovel | Gold Cost | Power |
|---|---|---|
| Plastic Shovel | Free (starter) | 1 Power |
| Wood Shovel | 500 | 2 Power |
| Stone Shovel | 1,600 | 3 Power |
| Metal Shovel | 9,000 | 5 Power |
| Gold Shovel | 45,000 | 7 Power |
| Amethyst Shovel | 190,000 | 9 Power |
Power is the minimum stat required to finish digs on harder nodes. Under-powered shovels produce partial progress bars that reset when you leave the ping — the most frustrating loss in Dig & Clean because detection already consumed your Luck roll.
Tier-by-tier breakdown
Plastic Shovel (free, 1 Power) — Tutorial gear. Plastic clears commons and soft uncommons on the main beach. Replace it immediately once you own Copper Detector and have 500 gold banked.
Wood Shovel (500 gold, 2 Power) — Pairs naturally with Copper Detector. Wood handles early rare pings on starter terrain. Most day-one players buy Wood in the same session as Copper.
Stone Shovel (1,600 gold, 3 Power) — The mid-early workhorse. Stone is the minimum comfortable tier for Bronze Detector sessions where rare glows appear regularly. If rare pings time out before your bar fills, you are one tier behind.
Metal Shovel (9,000 gold, 5 Power) — Required before serious Silver Detector farming. Metal clears epic nodes on main-map edges and prepares you for Shipwreck Cove digs described in Getting Started. Do not sail to islands with Stone or lower.
Gold Shovel (45,000 gold, 7 Power) — Late mid-game. Gold shovels keep pace with Gold Detector luck sessions where legendary pings appear. Pair with SECRET10 code windows from Codes only when inventory space and cleaning throughput can keep up.
Amethyst Shovel (190,000 gold, 9 Power) — Current max shovel tier as of Update 1. Amethyst matches Platinum Detector endgame and hard island nodes. Budget spray bottle upgrades after Amethyst unless you are workbench-blocked.
Shovel versus detector timing
A common mistake is maxing shovel before detector. You will break nodes faster on pings you rarely see. Conversely, a Platinum Detector with Plastic Shovel loses legendaries constantly — high Luck finds them, low Power loses them.
Sweet spot for most players: keep shovel one economic tier behind detector until Gold tier, then upgrade both in pairs for island content.
Power requirements by content
| Content zone | Recommended shovel |
|---|---|
| Tutorial beach | Plastic (free) |
| Main map commons/rares | Wood → Stone |
| Main map epics / edges | Metal |
| Shipwreck Cove / islands | Metal → Gold |
| Endgame rare hunts | Gold → Amethyst |
Island NPC unlocks are covered in Getting Started. Bring Metal minimum before paying travel costs — returning empty-handed wastes gold and code timers.
Gold path to Amethyst
| Jump | Gold needed | Cumulative from free |
|---|---|---|
| → Wood | 500 | 500 |
| → Stone | 1,600 | 2,100 |
| → Metal | 9,000 | 11,100 |
| → Gold | 45,000 | 56,100 |
| → Amethyst | 190,000 | 246,100 |
Shovel and detector cumulative costs are identical tier-by-tier in Update 1. Many players alternate purchases: detector tier up, matching shovel tier up, repeat. Use the Gear Upgrade Planner to simulate alternating buys against your current gold.
Selling strategy to fund shovels
Money and Museum explains when to polish versus quick-flip. For shovel funding, flip commons and uncommons fast until Metal tier. Hold epics for polish only when the sale price jump covers an entire next tier — otherwise volume beats perfection.

Power wins fights for pings. Upgrade shovels deliberately, match them to your detector tier, and never chase mythics with starter Plastic.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Dig & Clean questions.
What is the strongest shovel in Dig & Clean?
Amethyst Shovel is the current max tier at 190,000 gold with 9 Power. It pairs with Platinum Detector for endgame digging.
How much does the Wood Shovel cost?
Wood Shovel costs 500 gold and provides 2 Power. Buy it in the same session as your first detector upgrade.
Why do my digs keep timing out?
Your shovel Power is too low for the node tier. Upgrade to Stone or Metal before farming epics and legendaries.
Should I upgrade shovel before detector?
No. Upgrade detector Luck first, then shovel Power. Detection finds pings; shovels extract them.
What shovel do I need for Shipwreck Cove?
Metal Shovel minimum, Gold recommended. Island nodes hit harder than starter beach terrain.
Where do I buy shovels?
All shovels are sold at the Gear Shop in the center of the map next to detectors and spray bottles.
